WEEKLY RATE – Rates Improve After the FED Decided Not To Raise Rates

The FED announced on Wednesday that they would not raise rates on Wednesday which created a nice positive for bond trading and interest rate pricing.

The Mortgage Backed Security (MBS) market closed the week trading up + 40 bps and rate pricing improved nicely past Wednesday.  Rates are now at about 2 week lows after moving up some in the prior week.

There were hints that the FED could actually raise rates at their next meeting in December.

The MBS market is trading in a narrow range and most experts don’t see a whole lot of benefit in floating due to the unlikelihood of rates pushing much lower.
