RESIGNATION FROM STONEGATE MORTGAGE.

After 7 great years, I resigned from Stonegate Mortgage on Thursday. (was Crossline Capital for 5 of those years). It was a difficult decision because I’ve worked with so many great people and I’ve gained some life long friends.

I had a great run the past 7 years and I certainly owe a lot of people at Stonegate for contributing to my success and putting up with me all these years. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!

In the end, I wanted to independently run my business and that was the deciding factor. I appreciate my time at Stonegate and wish them nothing but the best.

I’m very excited and reinvigorated to start with my new company. I think my official start date is tomorrow so I’ll let people know then.

WEEKLY RATE – Interest Rates Hit 2 Week Lows

WEEKLY RATE – Interest Rates Hit 2 Week Lows

Interest rates improved moderately last week and had a great day on Monday.

The Mortgage Backed Security (MBS) market closed last week trading up + 10 bps.  The FED did not raise the Federal Funds rate.  That being said a FED member did say they may raise rates at their March meeting.  In the US Non Farm Payroll report, the job creation numbers were good but wages were not.

On Monday, rates hit 2 week lows with the MBS market trading way up , + 35 bps on the day.

Rates are still trading in a narrow channel and have remained that way for a month plus.  I expect that to continue.

I do not see rates dropping without something significant happening in the market.  I expect rates to stay in the same area until the FED raises rates again.  Then I expect rates to rise.

WEEKLY RATE – Interest Rates Go Down Amid Choppy Week

WEEKLY RATE – Interest Rates Go Down Amid Choppy Week

Rates were very choppy last week.

Interest rates saw some great improvement on Monday.  Then they went up a lot on Tuesday and Wednesday.  Then back down slowly Thursday through Tuesday of this week.

As the dust cleared, rate pricing improved slightly with volatility likely to continue.

There are a couple of events to round out the week that could have a big impact on rates.  The FED will make an interest rate decision on Wednesday.  Most market watchers don’t expect the FED to raise the Federal Funds Rate at this meeting.

On Friday, the US Non Farm Payroll and Unemployment percentage numbers will be released along with possible revisions to earlier estimates.  This is usually one of the most significant reports in shaping rate pricing for the coming month.
